The network has grown steadily since then, often by joining forces with people who shared our outlook. In 1992 we merged with EULEX and continued as EULEX IPG. As more members joined from beyond the European Union, we returned to the name International Practice Group in 2006, reflecting a network whose reach had become truly international. In 2009 we merged with Picatrex, a like-minded organisation with members across Europe. That merger brought new countries into the network and complementary expertise to places we already knew well.
Today IPG brings together more than 80 independent firms and over 2,500 lawyers, accountants, tax advisers, M&A specialists and other professionals around the world. Our members differ in size, language and specialism. What they share is a way of working: open, collegial and committed for the long term.
We meet twice a year, in spring and autumn, in a different city each time. Every conference is hosted and organised by members, so each carries a little of its host's character, and newcomers are welcomed from the first evening.
IPG is run by its members. A Board of Directors, supported by specialist committees, steering groups and initiatives such as Women in IPG and Generation IPG, keeps the network moving forward while staying true to what has always held it together.
If that sounds like a network you'd like to be part of, we'd love to hear from you.
